Joe came to America in 1974 and started behind the counter. In 1978 he bought the store and made it the neighborhood’s market.

In 1998 Joe took over the building at 1201 Flower St, once an adult school, and opened Flower Street Coin Laundry. Sami later fixed it up as Reina Laundromat.
